Brindley Construction Wins EIC Award

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced that Brindley Construction’s work on the First National Bank of Pulaski, has earned the company a Pyramid Award in the Renovation – less than $4 million category of ABC’s Excellence in Construction Awards. Brindley Construction’s representatives received the award February 4 during the 20th annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration in San Diego, Calif.
“ABC congratulates Brindley Construction for its exceptional work on the First National Bank of Pulaski,” said Kirk Pickerel, ABC president and CEO. “This project is an outstanding example of the innovation and commitment to superior craftsmanship that embody merit shop construction. It is a pleasure to honor this project with one of the association’s construction excellence awards.”
The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects and safety programs. The award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.
Accepting the award were Mark Hays of First National Bank and Ronnie Brindley of Brindley Construction, LLC. In accepting the award, Ronnie stated “It was an honor to have had the opportunity to complete the beautiful renovation of the historic First National Bank. First National has been a cornerstone of our community as well as an integral part of our company’s success. The teamwork between First National Bank, Fuqua and Associates, Architect and the Brindley team was an important part of winning this award.
This year’s competition was open to all construction projects completed by ABC member firms by Oct. 31, 2009.
A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges. This year’s panel included representatives from the Design-Build Institute of America, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Surety & Fidelity Association of America, The American Institute of Architects and representatives from higher education, among others.
