Anderson Columbia Co. Receives the Largest Road Construction Contract in Florida History
On March 2, 2007, the Florida Department of Transportation announced the team headed by Anderson Columbia Co., Inc. and Ajax Paving Industries (ACCI/API) had been awarded a $430.5 million contract to widen Interstate 75 in Florida. This contract sets a new record as the largest road construction contract to be awarded in Florida history.
The job will widen Interstate 75 to six lanes from Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers to Golden Gate Parkway in Naples and upgrade the Immokalee Road interchange in Naples. The project, covering an approximate 30 miles, is expected to begin this summer and should be completed in 2010.
