Dan Vella joined Davidson, Golden & Lundy in 1992 after six years in public accounting and seven years in private industry. He became a partner in 1996 and currently specializes in mergers and acquisitions in the construction industry, focusing on due diligence engagements.
Dan uses his 25-plus years of experience to provide clients with audits and reviews of their construction-related entities and manufacturing facilities. He also offers consulting services on such issues as internal controls, increased bonding and contractor licensing capacity, surety workout situations, merger and acquisition due diligence, and business valuation.
Dan has performed more than 275 due diligence engagements since 1996, as well as more than 50 internal audits for small businesses and publicly held corporations. He has been engaged by both buyers and sellers to help prepare and evaluate their companies.
Dan has been published in The Journal of Construction Accounting & Taxation. He also teaches seminars on performing due diligence engagements and understanding construction accounting.
Dan has served as the Treasurer and as a member of the original steering committee for the South-Central Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America. In addition, Dan belongs to both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Dan graduated from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
